What is a chemical injection skid?

A chemical injection skid packages everything needed to treat a well or flowline into one self-contained unit. Instead of sourcing a tank, containment, pump, power, and controls separately, you receive a single assembled system that is set on location, plumbed to the injection point, and started.

Skids are used for continuous and batch treatment with corrosion inhibitor, scale inhibitor, paraffin and asphaltene treatment, methanol and other hydrate inhibitors, biocide, H2S scavenger, and demulsifier.

What is on a Simple Injection skid

  • Chemical storage tank sized to your treatment volume and refill schedule
  • Secondary containment base to catch leaks and meet site requirements
  • Steel frame holding the tank, pumps, and controls up off the ground
  • One or more Class 1 Division 2 SpeedGoat, Roadrunner, or Fox pumps
  • Solar panel, battery, and charge control for remote locations, or 120 VAC where power is available
  • Radar tank level monitoring and cellular telemetry on SpeedGoat systems, with no monthly fees

One skid, multiple chemicals or injection points

Skids can carry several pumps so one frame treats more than one chemical or more than one injection point. Dual-head pumps paired with Nunchucks rate control let each head run its own rate and mode, so a single pump can serve two treatments without adjusting stroke pins.

Built for oilfield delivery and service

Skids ship on trailers fully assembled and are set on location ready to plumb. Controls, fill points, and pump heads stay accessible for commissioning and routine service.

Frequently asked questions

What is a chemical injection skid?

A chemical injection skid is a complete, pre-assembled injection system: chemical tank, secondary containment, pump or pumps, power, and controls on one frame, delivered ready to set and connect at the wellsite.

Can the skid run on solar power?

Yes. Skids are commonly built with a solar panel and battery for remote wells with no grid power. 120 VAC is also supported.

Can one skid inject more than one chemical?

Yes. Skids can carry multiple pumps, and dual-head pumps with Nunchucks rate control can run each head at its own rate and mode.

Can I monitor the skid remotely?

SpeedGoat skids include cellular telemetry, remote control, alarms, and radar tank level monitoring on the Simple Injection cloud dashboard, with no monthly fees.
